The Weight Of Legacy

The Weight Of Legacy

Legacy is not light. It is the weight of everything that came before you and the responsibility to carry it forward in your own way.

I come from a family that lived in two worlds. One side built racetracks. The other made movies. Both created something meaningful. But somewhere along the line, the work stopped, and the torch was left hanging.

That is the thing about legacy. Everyone says they want it, but few are willing to earn it. Some protect it. Some perform it. Others mistake attention for achievement and call it legacy.

I learned early that I did not want to inherit someone else’s story. I wanted to build my own. When I turned twenty, I left for New York City to chase something different. That is where Hijinx began, a mix of creativity, rebellion, and everything I learned from racing. Later, back home in Wisconsin, recovering from a dislocated knee, I realized something. Legacy is not about preserving the past. It is about continuing what mattered and evolving it into something new.

Legacy is not pressure anymore. It is purpose. It is the reminder that what came before me does not define me, it prepares me. It gives me roots, but it also gives me reason to grow.

Hijinx exists to evolve legacy. It takes what was built and moves it forward with meaning. Because legacy is not a monument. It is a relay. And I am running my leg of it.
